17 As for these four youths, God gave them learning and skill in all literature and wisdom, and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams.
19 And the king spoke with them, and among all of them none was found like Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah. Therefore they stood before the king. 20And in every matter of wisdom and understanding about which the king inquired of them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and enchanters that were in all his kingdom.
These young men were whom God had selected and equipped to be lights in a dark empire.
Not only did they have eternity placed in their heart, God also enabled them to be the most educated of the captives. He equipped them with learning and skill in literature and wisdom that they would be able to communicate and give counsel through an eternal filtration system.
They were placed in an elite position through the application of the equipping God had given them. What equipping have we received that we have yet to apply within our sphere of influence? Are we putting on display the irrevocable gifts on both the secular and spiritual stage?
The other captives where watching how Daniel would react in the Kings Court. They wondered if he would shy away from the boldness that God had given him. Some sidelined the opportunity to serve through their gifts, benching themselves from a Faith Building opportunity. But these four, applied their gifts and put on display the Author behind madness.
Paul encouraged the Corinthians with this word:
But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all: 1 Corinthians 12:7
